Stone Age Blogging, Part III

Not Legal Roadkill has suggested a combination of Ctrl operations to fix my hyperlink problem.

I hope they work... I am about to try them.

But even if they do, why cant I just hit the hyperlink tool and paste the HTML address where it should go?

I just get some pop-up with "The Page You Requested Could Not Be Found"

OK, here goes.

I will now attempt to link to Not Legal Roadkill, of TownHall.

http://collandp.townhall.com/

NOPE,  even Roadkill cannot rescue me from Stoneage Blogging!

Believe me, this is not due to lack of effort!  When I Ctrl-K or hit the hyperlink tool, I get:

The page you requested cannot be found. The page you requested cannot be found.

A Cure For Stone Age Blogging

After disabling the pop-up blocker on Mozilla, I think I've figured it out.  It wasn't easily done, though, because the pop-up would appear, it just said "The page you have requested cannot....blah, blah, blah."  It was only after going into full-screen mode that I noticed that Mozilla had blocked the hyperlink pop-up.

Here's the big test...

What do you think I'll link to?

You guessed it... another TownHall blogger who's experiencing the same problem.

I'll leave her a comment, so she can get out of the stone age, too.

Move along then, nothing to see here...

Update:  Nope, didn't work.

PLEASE FIX THE HYPERLINK MANAGER, DAMMIT!

Slowly, But Surely

People are starting to understand the enormity of this conflict.  Professor Bernard Lewis is a Middle Eastern and Islamic scholar who is pointed in the right direction.

From the Jerusalem Post: (no link b/c TownHall needs to fix the !#$%-ing hyperlink manager!)

The Muslims "seem to be about to take over Europe," Lewis said at a special briefing with the editorial staff of The Jerusalem Post. Asked what this meant for the continent's Jews, he responded, "The outlook for the Jewish communities of Europe is dim." Soon, he warned, the only pertinent question regarding Europe's future would be, "Will it be an Islamized Europe or Europeanized Islam?" The growing sway of Islam in Europe was of particular concern given the rising support within the Islamic world for extremist and terrorist movements, said Lewis.

Lewis, whose numerous books include the recent What Went Wrong?: The Clash Between Islam and Modernity in the Middle East, and The Crisis of Islam: Holy War and Unholy Terror, would set no timetable for this drastic shift in Europe, instead focusing on the process, which he said would be assisted by "immigration and democracy." Instead of fighting the threat, he elaborated, Europeans had given up.

"Europeans are losing their own loyalties and their own self-confidence," he said. "They have no respect for their own culture." Europeans had "surrendered" on every issue with regard to Islam in a mood of "self-abasement," "political correctness" and "multi-culturalism,"

Further on in the article, regarding Iranian President Ahmedinejad:

"For him, Mutual Assured Destruction is not a deterrent, it is an inducement," said Lewis of Ahmadinejad. "We know already that they [Iran's ruling ayatollahs] do not give a damn about killing their own people in great numbers. We have seen it again and again. If they kill large numbers of their own people, they are doing them a favor. They are giving them a quick, free pass to heaven. I find all that very alarming," said Lewis.

So do I...and so should you.

From The New York Times (even a broken clock is right twice a day): NO LINK--SEE ABOVE

Sean McCormack, a State Department spokesman, said Sunday that the United States had a significant body of evidence tying Iran to sectarian attacks inside Iraq.

“There is a high degree of confidence in the information that we already have, and we are constantly accumulating more,” Mr. McCormack said.

He did not address any of the specifics of Mr. Qumi’s comments about plans for stronger economic and security ties, but said that Iran currently plays “a negative role in many respects” in the country.

Iraqi officials also said that they could not comment on specific programs until they had seen the details, but expressed a range of views on the wisdom of expanding ties with Iran.

More Iranian meddling... we may not think we are at war with Iran, but the Iranian theocracy has the war map out, and the pieces are moving.

Watching The World Wake Up From History

Or will we watch it be repeated?

People thought Hitler was crazy when he spouted off comments full of hatred and world domination.  They really didn't take him too seriously until WWII had already begun.

How is this different than Ahmedinejad?  The Iranian regime, while denying the Holocaust, is using rhetoric very similar to Hitler's.  With the inroads Iran has made in Latin America coupled with unholy alliances with North Korea and Russia regarding nuclear capability and testing.... how long will it be before nuclear warheads are flying over the Middle East?

And what about the perpetual Sunni/Shia violence?  These sects have been at it for more than 1400 years.  Nothing the US does will change that.  In fact, the Saudis are worried about Shia expansionism to such a degree that the Saudi family issued a statement yesterday saying that the Sunni view will always be the majority in Islam.

Robert Spencer of JihadWatch has a nice collection of "1938 Alerts" which are rife with Iranian saber-rattling.  My question is how long will the Iranian snakes rattle before they strike?

You can view the "1938 Alerts" by copying and pasting this URL into your browser:

***I would have links in this post, but for some reason the Hyperlink Manager for TownHall is broken.
